Dancing with Parkinson's classes are held at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center on Wednesdays—NEW! in Westwood at the Madcap Education Center on Thursdays— and around the Greater Cincinnati area through a series of master classes.
Together we move, laugh, sing, and support one another on our
unique journeys with Parkinson's disease.
Our new Westwood class at the Madcap Education Center is up and running as of Thursday, November 8, 2018!
We meet 10:30am–12noon in the beautiful, light-filled, first floor dance studio. No movement experience is necessary, and care partners are encouraged to attend– dance is good for everyone!
Off-street parking is available on the side of the building, which is fully handicap accessible.
Dancing with Parkinson's works closely with several like-minded community organizations to make this class possible. They help us to keep costs low for participants and extend our reach into more communities..
We couldn't do it without their help.
Our teachers come from a variety of dance backgrounds, and work together to create diverse classes that target aspects of life most affected by PD.
A little tap, jazz, tango, ballet, line dancing— you just never know what they have planned!
All our teachers have attended professional development workshops with the national Dance for PD® program. Those methods, developed by the Brooklyn Parkinson Group and Mark Morris Dance Company, strongly influence our class.
Persons with Parkinson's are valued members of our Community who deserve a safe, understanding space to pursue their personal fitness goals and artistic endeavors.
Donations offset costs to help Persons with Parkinson's stay active.
